According to the American Psychological Association (APA) Stress in America report, there were a greater number of American adults who experienced “extreme levels of stress” in 2015 compared to 2014. In that same report, 78 percent of adults surveyed said they have experienced at least one symptom of stress within the past year. The APA identifies symptoms of stress as headaches, upset stomach, chest pains/rapid heartbeat, sleep issues, fatigue, loss of appetite, increased frequency of colds, dry mouth, irritability, anxiety, and memory problems or forgetfulness.
We also know that increased stress, especially chronic “extreme” stress levels as reported by the APA, can increase risk of illness. Stress can also damage the integrity and function of the endocannabinoid system (ECS).
That’s why it’s so important to find positive ways to manage stress.
Unfortunately, many people cope with stress with unhealthy behaviors such as overeating, drinking alcohol, smoking a cigarette, or just feeling helpless. It’s critical to replace any negative coping patterns with positive, effective stress-management techniques such as:
- Learning to calm the mind and promote a positive mental attitude, despite the amount of stress you are under.
- Following a healthy lifestyle, including regular physical exercise.
- Eating a healthful Mediterranean-style whole-foods diet.
- Utilizing key dietary and herbal supplements to support the ECS and balance your body’s stress response.
Because of its amazing rejuvenating effects, the herb Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is one of the most revered plants in Ayurvedic medicine. Scientific research demonstrates that this herb is particularly restorative when it comes to helping people deal with stress.*
In addition to Ashwagandha, PharmaGABA has also been shown to help support the body during times of stress.* PharmaGABA is a unique form of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), which is an amino acid that helps support brain function. PharmaGABA has the unique ability to increase the production of alpha brain waves (associated with being relaxed and alert) while decreasing beta waves (associated with nervousness and scattered thoughts).*
Endo Calm by Emerald Health Bioceuticals contains 200 mg of Ashwagandha extract along with 25 mg of PharmaGABA. Endo Calm also features the propriety, full-spectrum PhytoCann Complex. The six phytocannabinoid extracts in PhytoCann provide additional synergistic support to the ECS on multiple levels, including the body’s stress response.* The combination of these herbs—clove oil, Echinacea, Sichuan pepper, peony, ginger, and magnolia—create an effective foundation to provide benefit in addition to the Ashwagandha and PharmaGABA that are in Endo Calm. Endo Calm also contains organic hempseed oil, which contains essential fatty acids to further support mental health.
During today’s hectic times, nearly all of us can use some support when it comes to managing stress. Along with a healthy diet and exercise, Endo Calm can provide additional support to help keep you calm during times of stress. Endo Calm is brought to you by Emerald Health Bioceuticals, The Endocannabinoid Company.
